Gram Souness has urged Arsenal youngster Mile Lewis-Skelly to focus on improving himself, saying that Erling Haaland’s mockery of the celebration was not a good thing.
The 18-year-old imitated Haaland’s celebration during last week’s 5-1 home thrashing of แทงบอล UFABET ราคาดีที่สุด ไม่มีขั้นต่ำ Manchester City in a game that was full of tension and controversy over the pair’s meeting in September, with Souness admitting he admires Lewis-Skelly but does not approve of the goal celebration.
“I like Arsenal’s Mile Lewis-Skelly,” Souness wrote in his Daily Mail column. “His attitude is obvious and that’s why I think he can be a great player.”
“He was brilliant in Arsenal’s 5-1 win over Manchester City last week, including a mocking Erling Haaland celebration after his side pulled one back.”
“I like the attitude in all aspects of life, not just in football. People go out there and say, ‘This is life, this is what I’m going to do.’ I like to see players misbehave a bit as well, but after seeing the goal celebration, I think he needs to calm down a bit.”
“At 18, it’s too early to make fun of Haaland, who is a very successful player in our league. Wait until you win something, son. Give him two or three years, listen and learn every day until then. Know that a young player like that can go down a bad path.”
